Charlotte’s senior associate athletic director Darin Spease has been named chair of the 2009 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Committee.
Spease has served one year on the committee and will be in his new position for three more years.
Spease graduated from UNC Charlotte in 1989 and has worked with the 49ers athletic department for 10 years. He was named Assistant A.D. for Business Affairs in 1998 and promoted to Associate A.D. in 2001 and Senior Associate A.D. in 2004.
“It is an honor to serve the sport of intercollegiate golf in this leadership capacity,” said Spease, who served as the chair of the 2008 Atlantic 10 Men’s Golf Committee. “The committee is made up of a dedicated group of administrators and coaches that I will lean on in our mutual quest to make the NCAA Golf Championship the very best it can be.”
