Looking sharp at the Presidents Cup

With the Presidents Cup underway, it is time to take a look at what’s happening out in San Francisco on the fashion front.

The U.S. Team is looking sharp in their Ashworth team shirts and sweaters and their Elevee golf pants. Some notable looks from Harding Park include the blue argyle sweaters worn on the Thursday, the vivid red sweaters for the first round and the Padres jerseys the caddies wore.

Elevee Golf had more than just pants on display at the Presidents Cup. Their personally-customized USA buckle, which Anthony Kim was sporting, is always a good addition, and the tennis shoes Lucas Glover wore with his opening ceremony suit was trendy in his own southern way.

Ashworth Golf, a division of TaylorMade-adidas Golf, was also the apparel sponsor at the Solheim Cup in August, and definitely made a splash there with their prominent and patriotic red, white and blue combinations. We had a feeling we could expect nice-looking outfits on the men.

“It is a privilege to have been selected to design and create apparel for the 2009 U.S. Presidents Cup Team,” said Eddie Fadel, Vice President of Apparel for Ashworth, “U.S. Team captain Fred Couples has been with Ashworth since the beginning and it will be an honor to watch him lead the U.S. Team. We are proud to be affiliated with such a prestigious event.”

Note: Sean O’Hair also is on the Ashworth Apparel staff.
