Talia Campbell has given a verbal commitment to play college golf at Tulane.
Campbell, who is ranked No. 38 in the 2012 class and No. 8 overall in Texas, made unofficial visits to Stanford, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Tulane. She also considered Texas A&M, Texas, Princeton, Wake Forest and Yale.
“All of the schools I was strongly considering had exceptional academic reputations, terrific coaches and dedicated teams. I ultimately chose Tulane because I believe that Coach (John Thomas) Horton and his keen attention to detail will elevate my golf game; furthermore, the university will enable me to obtain my long-term academic goals,” Campbell said.
Campbell, of Ursuline Academy in Dallas, won the 2010 Texas State High School Championship for private and parochial schools and has twice won AJGA events and recently tied for fifth place at the Kathy Whitworth Invitational.
