Ziegler wins Pacific NW Women’s Amateur

Aaren Ziegler of Canby, Ore., defeated Lovelynn Guioguio of the Philippines, 5 and 4, on July 15 in the scheduled 36-hole final of the 110th Pacific Northwest Women’s Amateur Championship at Port Ludlow (Wash.) Golf Club.

Ziegler, a University of Wisconsin freshman, had a commanding 5-up lead at the end of the morning round and led by at least three holes the rest of the way.

In the Pacific Northwest Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, also at Port Ludlow GC, Sandra Turbide of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, successfully defended her title by defeating 2005 and 2007 champion Kareen Markle of Meridian, Idaho, 2 and 1.
