Madsen tied for Tshwane Open lead behind remarkable first-round finish

Coolest finish ever?

Morten Orum Madsen finished his opening round of the European Tour’s Tshwane Open by going hole-in-one, eagle to shoot 7-under 63 and share the lead at Pretoria Country Club.

“That was fantastic,” Madsen said. “For the last couple of weeks I’ve been hitting some shots that were really close and I said to my caddie that a hole-in-one was in the cards pretty soon.”

This is the Dane’s first European Tour hole-in-one. It was with a wedge from 134-yards.

Madsen, who’s lone European Tour victory came in South Africa in 2013, is joined at the top of the leaderboard by David Horsey. The Englishman was bogey-free on Thursday.
