David Laskin (2016) verbally commits to Arizona

David Laskin, a 2016 recruit from Elk Grove, Calif., recently gave his verbal commitment to the University of Arizona.

The 17-year-old who attends Jesuit High in Carmichael, Calif., chose the Wildcats over Oregon State, Washington State and San Diego State.

“It was a difficult decision, but I chose Arizona because it has great weather and some of the best facilities that I saw,” Laskin told Golfweek. “Arizona gets to play awesome courses all year round, we get to play a great schedule all around the Pac-12 and I will be able to play with some of the best in the country.

“I really liked the big campus feel and Coach (Jim) Anderson and Coach (Chris) Nallen made me feel welcome. The Eller Business School is one of the top business schools in the country, and it will be a great program for me.”

Laskin made match play last year at the U.S. Junior Amateur in The Woodlands, Texas.
