Ian Poulter calls U.S. Open greens at Chambers Bay ‘disgraceful’

Ian Poulter took to Instagram to sound off on the greens at Chambers Bay, site of the 2015 U.S. Open.

“It wasn’t a bad golf course, In fact it played well and was playable. What wasn’t playable were the green surfaces,” wrote Poulter on the social media site. “They were simply the worst most disgraceful surface I have ever seen on any tour …”

The Englishman went on to say that many golfers would have withdrawn from the U.S. Open had it not been a major.

Poulter tied for 54th at 11 over par for the week, finishing with a 7-over 77 Sunday.
