Geoff Ogilvy hits golf ball onto Ian Poulter’s balcony at British Open

From the “here’s something you don’t see every day” department:

When Ian Poulter’s son, Luke, looked out onto the balcony of Poulter’s hotel room Tuesday morning at the Old Course Hotel in St. Andrews, he saw something rather interesting: a golf ball sitting near a drain on the small balcony.

Poulter broadcasted the discovery on Periscope, identifying the ball as a Titleist 2 with a black and red stripe on it.

Soon after, Graham DeLaet tweeted at Poulter: “I’d ask Geoff Ogilvy.”

Turns out, DeLaet was right. The ball belonged to Ogilvy and ended up on the balcony after Ogilvy sent his drive way right on the 17th hole during a practice round.

Poulter later found Ogilvy and got him to sign the ball.
