VIDEO: Lincicome, fiance do trick shots at LPGA junior clinic

The LPGA’s power couple put on quite the show Tuesday at the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic.

Brittany Lincicome and her fiance, Dewald Gouws, wowed more than 900 kids in Prattville, Ala., with a variety of trick shots and booming drives. Gouws, a beefy South African and long-drive competitor, once cranked a drive 464 yards in competition.

Lincicome, known on tour as “Bam Bam,” and Gouws smashed through watermelons. Gouws also hit a drive off a high tee with a hang-time of 12 seconds and drove through a half-inch-thick piece of plywood. Lincicome and Brooke Pancake lobbed golf balls with mints on them for kids to catch.

Here are some videos from the clinic:

There also was a Champions Challenge between former winners Katherine Kirk, Lexi Thompson, Stacy Lewis and M.J. Hur, with players aiming at nine tires as their targets.

Thompson won the event for the second consecutive year, taking home a new set of tires as her early-week trophy at the Robert Trent Jones Senator Course.

“Well, it’s sad to say that I’m good at like the low punch shots because some- times I need them if I hit in the trees,” Thompson said. “I definitely practice those shots on the range sometimes.”
