Preseason rank: 10

Final 2014-15 Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: 16

2014-15 in review: The Ducks went undefeated in the fall, winning four times, and added another title in the spring. Oregon finished second at the Pac-12 Championship and 23rd at the NCAA Championship.

Notable departures: Jonathan Woo, Hurly Long

Key returnees: Aaron Wise, Thomas Lim, Brandon McIver, Zach Foushee

Newcomers of note: Edwin Yi, Sam Foust

Fall schedule: Husky Invitational, Sept. 21-22; The Jackrabbit, Sept. 26-28; Nike Golf Intercollegiate, Oct. 5-7; The Gifford, Nov. 2-4.

Fall outlook: The Ducks return a strong core from their 2014-15 squad that went undefeated in the fall, including sophomore Aaron Wise, who won the Pacific Coast Amateur and reached the final of the Western Amateur – “He has established himself as an elite player,” head coach Casey Martin said. “It’s exciting to see him develop.” Seniors Brandon McIver and Zach Foushee, and junior Thomas Lim all have plenty of experience. Oregon did lose Jonathan Woo to graduation and Hurly Long, who transferred to Texas Tech, but add Colorado transfer Andrew Bonner and two players coming off of redshirt seasons, Sulman Raza and Brandon Baumgarten. Martin said his team learned a lot from their undefeated start last season. “The good news,” Martin said, “is you know when you’re playing well you’re capable of beating the best teams in the nation.”

Coach’s perspective: “There’s some inherent pressure that the guys will feel because we are hosting the NCAA Championship on our home course, so we’ll have to deal with those expectations and be able to play golf without thinking about all that.” – Martin
