McClure “Mac” Meissner lives in San Antonio and attends Alamo Heights High. He’ll stay instate to play college golf, committing to SMU.

“I felt an immediate connection with both coach (Jason) Enloe and (Chris) Parra,” Meissner told Golfweek. “I really like the academic offerings of SMU. Trinity Forest, the new SMU course and facility, was a huge factor. It is going to be one of the best in the country.  I also know many members on the team and know they are going to be very good and continue to compete at a high level.”

Meissner, a Class of 2017 golfer, chose SMU after also receiving offers from Rice, Pepperdine, San Diego and Loyola Marymount. He also made visits to Baylor and Stanford.

Meissner, ranked 68th overall by Golfweek, recently finished second at the AJGA Mission Hills Desert Junior and won the Texas Legends Bluebonnet Classic, both in May.
