Jeff Babineau Just how wild was the wind at Birkdale?
The wind shifted players into full survival mode Saturday at Birkdale. Camilo Villegas hit two shots on No.1 that never got higher than 12 feet in the air. Greg Norman hit 5-iron from 120 yards into the fifth. And Rocco Mediate had 148 yards into the 11th and asked for a 3-wood.
