U.S. rounds played falls 7.5% in Sept.
GOLFWEEK STAFFThe volume of rounds played in the U.S. fell 7.5 percent in September compared with the same month a year ago, according to an industry report.
The National Rounds Played Report attributed the decline to a deteriorating economy and plummeting consumer confidence – rather than weather issues – given that nearly all regions posted losses.
On an year-to-date basis, rounds played is down 1.4 percent.
The report is a joint effort of Golf Datatech, National Golf Foundation, PGA of America and National Golf Course Owners Association.
