Arthur M. Blank, co-founder of The Home Depot, has been named chairman of Golf & Tennis Pro Shop Inc., which owns and operates the PGA Tour Superstore retail chain.

Blank, who was just appointed to the company’s board of directors, replaces Bill Hamlin – Golf & Tennis Pro Shop founder – who retired as chairman.

Golf & Tennis Pro Shop is the PGA Tour’s exclusive partner for off-course/off-airport and online golf retailing. Founded in 2004, the company has opened 10 U.S. superstores, which range in size from 46,000 to 75,000 square feet.

“PGA Tour Superstore has real potential to further solidify its leadership position in the golf and tennis retail segments, by continuing to enhance its business model and through future store growth,” Blank said. He has been a significant investor in Golf & Tennis Pro Shop since 2006 and also is the owner and chief executive of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons.

In addition to Blank, the company’s board of directors include:

• Marshall Day, Day Investment Partners, L.P.

• Mike Elliott, Noro-Moseley Partners

• Charlie Moseley, Noro-Moseley Partners

• Ralph Pepper, RCP Management

• Kim Shreckengost, AMB Group, LLC

• Dick Sullivan, Golf & Tennis Pro Shop CEO

Two of the company’s locations operate as Martin’s PGA Tour Superstore in Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach, S.C. All others operate as PGA Tour Superstore, including four locations in Atlanta, Ga. (Roswell, Kennesaw, Duluth and Buckhead); two locations in Dallas, Texas (Plano and Frisco); and two locations in Phoenix, Ariz. (Chandler and Scottsdale).
