No. 5 Oklahoma State claimed its third Big 12 title in the past four years, while freshman Rickie Fowler walked away with the individual title Sunday at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas.

The Cowboys finished at 11-under 1,141, 20 shots ahead of No. 38 Texas. Texas Tech,  No. 27 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, took third at 13 over par.

Fowler, the nation’s top-ranked individual, shot a final-round 68 to finish at 9-under 279 and become the sixth Cowboy to win the Big 12 title; it was also Fowler’s ninth consecutive top-10 finish to start his college career.

Fellow Oklahoma State freshman Kevin Tway shot 73 to finish second at 5 under par after entering the final round with a one-shot lead, while Texas Tech’s Garrett Merrell (74) finished third at 3 under.
