Notre Dame posted a three-shot victory Tuesday at the Napa River Grill Cardinal Club for its second consecutive victory to start the season.

The Irish were led by freshman So-Hyun Park, who shot 3-under 213 (70-71-72) for a one-shot victory over Middle Tennessee State’s Taryn Durham. Park finished second in her collegiate debut last week at the Cougar Classic, where Notre Dame set several school records in winning the team title.

Notre Dame junior Lisa Mauna, who won the Cougar Classic, finished sixth at 5-over 221.

Notre Dame started the final round at the Cardinal Cup with an eight-shot lead, but had to rally late to shoot 296 and hold off host Louisville, which shot a final-round 291 to finish second.

“ We played the last four holes at four-under par so we finished really well,” said Notre Dame head coach Susan Holt. “We let the lead slip away heading into the back nine, so I approached all of our golfers and said that we have to get it back and we did. It was really nice to back up what we did last week.”
