Allen named director of golf at Penn
GOLFWEEK STAFF

The University of Pennsylvania has named Scott Allen as its new director of golf. Allen will serve as the head coach of the men’s program and oversee the direction of the women’s program.

Allen replaces Francis Vaughn, who spent the last 12 years with the Penn golf programs and most recently served as the university’s director of golf.

Allen spent the last 14 years as head coach of the George Washington University golf team, and departed as the winningest coach in the 80-year history the program. In 2006, he led the team to its first NCAA berth in 60 years. He tallied his 1,000th career head-to-head victory at the 2005 Bethany Beach Invitational, and his 1,270 career wins are four times more than any other George Washington golf coach.
