Brandt Snedeker will team with American Ryder Cup player Ben Curtis at next month’s World Cup in China, Golfweek has learned.

Curtis was ranked 33rd on Sept. 1, the deadline to set teams for the two-man event, and picked Snedeker who will add the tournament to an already crowded international schedule.
Snedeker is scheduled to get married Oct. 18 in Nashville, Tenn., and will work his honeymoon in between events in New Zealand, Japan and the World Cup.

The 2007 Rookie of the Year will play the new Kiwi Challenge Oct. 27-28 in New Zealand, followed by the Dunlop Phoenix in Japan Nov. 20-23 in Japan before heading to Mission Hills for the $5.5 million World Cup Nov. 27-30.

Eight Americans ranked above Curtis passed on the trip to China, including fellow Ryder Cup players Phil Mickelson, Steve Stricker and Stewart Cink.

Last year, Boo Weekley and Heath Slocum lost a playoff to Scotland’s Colin Montgomerie and Marc Warren.

The 28-team event will include European Ryder Cup stars Ian Poulter, Robert Karlsson and Graeme McDowell. Montgomerie will team with Alastair Forsyth for his title defense.
